Design

(triple balancing): The three conductors of the Colorado cable with “triple balancing” guarantee that, regardless of the use of RCA or XLR plugs, the positive and negative signals have low distortion conductive paths. The 100% coverage shielding is never used as a lower quality audio conductor.

Metal

The PSC+ (Perfect-Surface Copper+) has an exceptionally smooth, thin and pure surface. The technologies used to prepare the metal protect the surface of the cable at each stage of design and manufacturing.

When extremely pure copper with a low degree of oxidation is kept as smooth and flexible as possible, it becomes a wonderful low distortion PSC conductor. PSC+ copper is prepared by applying the same technology to ultra pure copper, eliminating irritation and providing exceptional clarity.

The resulting sound quality is even more accurate and natural. For fifteen years AudioQuest has been the first manufacturer to use superior metals; and we were all surprised by the huge leap in terms of performance. PSC+ copper simply surpasses the previously available metals, regardless of their price.

Insulation (Teflon Air Tubes)

Air is an almost perfect dielectric element. Once the DBS is connected (for two weeks), the normal irritation caused by unpolarized Teflon is practically eliminated.

Noise Dissipation System

Easy protection with 100% shielding. The Audioquest noise dissipation system is necessary to prevent captured RF interference from modulating the ground reference of the equipment. Metal and carbon-rich synthetic products prevent most RF interference from reaching the equipment ground plane.

Dielectric Bias System

All insulators slow down the signal inside the conductor. When the insulator is not polarized, it slows down different parts of the signal differently, which is a serious problem for the multi-octave sound that is highly sensitive to timing.

The Audioquest DBS creates a stable and powerful electrostatic field that saturates and polarizes (organizes) the insulating molecules. This maximally reduces the accumulation of energy in the insulator and multiple non-linear delays.

The sound is drawn on an astonishingly black background with a surprising level of precision and dynamic contrast. The DBS battery has a service life of several years. A test button and a light indicator make it possible to check the battery condition from time to time.

Cold-weld soldered connectors

The RCA plugs are soldered to the Colorado cable at 8000 amperes, which creates a perfect alloy connection at the cable-plug junction. A thick silver plating provides the best possible connection. The gold-plated RCA plugs are designed to eliminate distortion caused by contacts inside most other plugs.
